Strike of the Seven Fists – Active Skills And Runes
Slap the Seven Fists is the key skill in this build. The attack itself does not have a significant share in your damage but sets the chain reaction of the detonations of Exploding Hand in motion with the 6-piece bonus of the Uliana set. Although the rune does not contribute any elemental synergy effects here, the selection of Perpetual Attack is essential, because it halves the cooldown of the Strike of the Seven Fists.

The real powerhouse of this build is the signature skill Exploding Hand with the rune Impending Doom, which instead of the bleeding effect causes a massive explosion with direct cold damage when the opponent dies. It is triggered by the 6- piece bonus of the Uliana set and spreads through the legendary Gungdo rails like a plague among the masses of monsters. Although you have Exploding Hand on the action bar, you do not have to perform the skill manually, because the path of the Hundred Fists, your mental power generator, automatically activates the skill via the 2-part bonus of the Uliana set without costing any mental power.

Way of the Hundred Fists is the mind generator of choice in this build because it fulfills several functions: Maintaining the two damage buffs of the Bastion of Will ring set, activating your own assimilation damage buff, maintaining defensive procs such as the ghost buff bracers (in Kanai’s Cube, see below), synergy effect with the 2-part bonus of the Uliana set for the initial activation of Exploding Hand and finally the generation of mental power with a standard 12 mental power per hit.
Revelation is the Uliana Monk’s core defensive ability. It strengthens your mobility by allowing you to stay with your opponent until the kill. Furthermore, the generation of mental power is increased and thus ensures that the strike of the seven fists and the active part of the Mantra of Rapture are always available. Last but not least, the desert veil rune greatly reduces the incoming damage.
The active-passive skill mantra of rapture increases all of your resistances on the passive side and, via the agility rune, also significantly increases your chance of evasion. The active component of the mantra additionally increases the resistances for a short time, and the mental power costs required for activation can be easily compensated by the way of the hundred fists and revelation.
The frenzied attack is one of the best mobility skills, but in the Uliana build it is mainly used to survive in the midst of the monsters. It works in a similar way to the onslaught of the barbarian and allows you, with its short cooldown time, to leave monster “dry spells” and unfavorable battles behind you. With the standard two charges, you can also maintain the greatly increased chance of evasion due to the fast-paced rune for most of the time.
The Fanal of Ytar is a solid choice for any Monk build because the good cooldown reduction includes both attacks and defenses, in this case, the Seven Fists Key Skill and the Revelation core defensive skill.
Harmony causes items that increase your resistance to a certain type of damage to instead increase your resistance to all types of damage by 40% of this single value. An example: 100% fire resistance on your boots adds 100% fire resistance to your previous stats and 40% to all other resistances. Ideally, you “roll” individual resistances on each piece of equipment at the enchantress, where it is possible under the secondary attributes, in order to achieve maximum resilience.
To counter the high peaks of damage that this build is inevitably exposed to, Night Death Experience is chosen as the third passive skill. When you suffer fatal damage, you do not die, but instead, a third of your life and spirit is restored. You are also temporarily immune to damage and loss of control effects, which usually allows an orderly retreat.
Last but not least, one of the best defensive skills comes into play when the monk wields two weapons: the path of the guardian. Combined with the Dodging bonuses of Blazing Fast and Maneuverability, the additional 35% Dodge provides excellent defense in the midst of the pack of monsters.
