Players Thoughts on the American Truck Simulator Game

Majority of the reviews given by players are good, as some acclaims even describe the game as realistic and accurate. Ludia’s video game designer Samuel Boivin gave his review at Trucks.com, commending how the game play allows users to experience the true-to-life effects of driving while hauling heavy cargo when maneuvering the truck.

The experiences provided by the simulator are so realistic that they even require proper timing and natural physics to slow down or to generally control a truck. According to Boivin it’s actually what most players have come to like about American Truck Simulator. They actually get to master their driving skills when navigating and maneuvering both truck and trailer in tight spots.

One retired truck driver also commented on how the game accurately mimics a truck’s handling of cargo, as well as of the precise mileage scale. Moreover, he described the graphics as decent and the game soundtrack is easy on the ears. What he liked the most was the feature where the game allows the players to also act as owners of their own trucking company they manage.

Another review came from a player who described himself as someone who isn’t great with driving. He found the game enjoyable as he is able to virtually drive a huge truck while sight-seeing various locations across the country. In fact he is quite excited about exploring other states, having played only about a hundred hours of the game.

About the ATS Gameplay

The ATS not only allows players to drive and customize their own trucks. It also acquaints players with the business management elements by making players owners of a truck company. The challenge is that in order to earn money, they have to drive their truck to deliver cargo in various locations. The challenging part is that the payload has a time limit and that there is no damage to the goods delivered.

The money earned from these deliveries can be utilized to buy more trucks and upgrades, buy garages, hire truck operators, refill fuel, truck maintenance, and bank loans. Players in the game are managing their trucking businesses where they can own properties and hire truck operators or drivers.

Any owner of a trucking company, including towing truck service firms, knows that is is important for truck drivers to be highly skilled. ATS can keep the younger people interested in learning to drive big trucks, to ensure that as the current generations of adult drivers get to retire, there will not be a shortage of truck drivers. San Jose, California for one, there is a huge demand for tow truck drivers ever since towing san jose abandoned vehicles has become a huge problem.

Fortunately, California was the first state that ATS drivers explored while learning to maneuver and control their first truck. Presumably, a great many of them are now familiar with California’s truck driving laws since the game also includes applicable state laws that drivers must observe and follow when towing trailers along public roads and highways.
